ELECTRO DERMAL SCREENING
What it is and what it can do for you
As we move into the 21 st Century, high technology merging with ancient medicine is going to become more and more profound. Within a short time every medical practitioner in the United States will be doing some sort of electro-dermal screening to recognize the patient’s organ dysfunctions before physiological symptoms manifest. This type of screening can identify pathogens and toxins that make a person sick. It can ascertain what medicine, supplements, or remedies are helpful. It can also determine the correct dosage. This is done quickly, inexpensively and noninvasively.
The first use of electricity in medicine dates to 2750 B.C. and is shown on an Egyptian tomb, which depicts therapeutic benefits from exposure to a species of electric fish. The Greeks, in the First Century, showed the therapeutic benefit from exposure to electric eels. At the turn of the century in the United States many medical electrical gadgets began to appear. There was a total lack of any type of standard in medical education, and many poplar forms of 'snake oils' were rampant.
In 1910 the Carnegie Institute published a report, which caused a reverse in medical education and the use of electro-therapy. Then more devices, based on sound discoveries began to emerge.
Dr. Reinhold Voll, over 50 years ago, developed the Dermatron. This was basically an ohmmeter, which allowed him to measure energy. His experiments were directed at proving that the ancient Chinese acupuncture meridians truly existed and that he could measure the energy they carried. During his experiments he identified hundreds of acupuncture points on the human body that make up a complete, secondary circuitry located in the mesenchyme tissue, just below the skin surface. When this energy comes to the surface at various “points” it can be measured. This system is not identical to the nervous system but is complimentary to it. This proved the 4,000 year old Chinese belief that the body's energy life force (chi) follows specific pathways known as meridians. These pathways flow through all levels of the body, including the physical, emotional, and spiritual. Imbalances that slow or stop the flow of energy compromise the health of the body.
It is important to understand that this is not a measurement of energy itself, but rather the body's ability to conduct energy. When Voll was experimenting he found that the electrical conductivity of healthy acupuncture points measured within the same ranges on healthy individuals. Points measuring outside that range revealed disturbances in tissue and organs. He also noted that major disturbances within the body produced a downward drop, known in the industry as an “indicator drop’. Voll also found that patient’s had abnormal readings when exposed to substances to which they were allergic. He discovered that medicines placed in the proximity of the patient actually changed the point readings.
Mainstream medicine in the United States has resisted acceptance of this equipment because it is based on the principles of quantum physics and the tradition of energy medicine. Neither of these are understood or taught in our medical schools. Still, it is estimated that over 100,000 medical doctors and healthcare practitioners around the world use some form of electro-dermal testing to find underlying causes of physical and emotional problems. It must be stated again, that this equipment does not “DIAGNOSE” disease but TESTS FOR THE UNDERLYING CAUSE.
Meridian Stress Assessment is also referred to as EAV, MSA and Bio-Energetic testing. Testing is not done with needles but rather a blunt probe or bands placed on ankle, head and wrists at certain contact sites.
Today most people are already aware of equipment, which measures the body's electrical energy. These are used everyday in hospitals and clinics.
- Electro-cardiograph (ECG) 1887) measures electrical activity from areas of the heart
- Electro-encephalograph (EEG) (1875) measures electricity from the brain
- Stress electro-cardiogram measures cardiac function in response to exercise
- Galvanic Skin Response - better known as the lie detector
- Other electromagnetic stimuli are measured by x-ray machines, magnetic resonance imaging units and electromyelography
Electro-magnetic or meridian stress assessments instruments have been manufactured and used all over the world for over 50 years. Man is a very complex bio-energetic resonator. Whether or not a therapeutic system is understood, has no bearing on its effectiveness. This article is not meant to explain what energy is, nor will it attempt to explain how the body conducts it. Cellular biology teaches that cells have two different types of antenna. One set detects substances such as nutrients and hormones. The other set is specifically used for electromagnetic signals.
Since this equipment DOES NOT DIAGNOSE DISEASE OR ANY SPECIFIC ILLNESS –
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF STRESS ASSESSMENT?
Testing with this equipment is safe. There is no exposure to allergens. It is pleasant for the patient. It is painless. There are no adverse side effects. Testing is less expensive than conventional medical tests. The equipment can test medications, herbs, remedies and homeopathics and the patient's reaction, without threat to the patient. Today, numerous patients are admitted to hospitals across the country because of adverse reactions to drugs they have been prescribed. This equipment eliminates the trial and error system in use today on all types of medications and remedies. It can test for optimal doses easily and quickly without any threat to the patient. It is also a great help in adjusting dosage of medications for children, since most allopathic drugs are tested and prescribed only in adult dosage.
Not only can this system pinpoint underlying causes of physical and emotional problems but everyone taking vitamins, minerals, herbs, supplements, remedies or medicines should have them tested to be sure they are actually necessary and are beneficial to the person. This can save the patient hundreds of dollars a year in useless supplements. Frequently the amount of money saved on these unnecessary items will more than pay for the cost of testing.
This equipment has been successful in finding and treating cases of gum disease, chronic fatigue, mercury toxicity, radiation poisoning and parasites. It has found the underlying causes of diabetes and attention deficit disorder and attention deficit hyperactive disorder. It has found immune disorders, systemic candida and other health conditions that have eluded conventional physicians' tests for years.
WHAT ARE THE DISADVANTAGES OF STRESS ASSESSMENT?
The biggest disadvantage to this equipment is that people tend to fear and reject that which they do not understand so testing techniques have been slow to emerge and become popularly known in “mainstream medicine”.
Another disadvantage is that insurance companies have been slow to accept this testing and therefore few of them cover the costs of tests and remedies. However, there are now over 70 insurance companies that are paying for natural health care, preventive medicine and alternative treatments. Check with YOUR insurance company about their polices.
Antihistamines, corticosteroids and some medications, as well as strong coffee and strong tea, will occasionally alter the reading on the instrument. False readings can also occur due to the patient's reactions to chemicals in the atmosphere at the time of testing, i.e. perfumes, room deodorizers, exhausts, etc. Occasionally the instrument fails to find a food or a chemical to which the person has shown a reaction. And, again, sometimes the equipment shows a positive reading for something to which the person believes they have had no reactionary history.
Another disadvantage, and a considerable one, is that THIS EQUIPMENT IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE DOCTOR INTERPRETING THE RESULTS. Many health food stores, grocery stores, MLM groups and untrained technicians have purchased units for the sole purpose of selling their products with no consideration to the overall health history of the patient, or the deeper organ dysfunction or emotional problems that may be present. Also, they fail to test for reactions between two or more of the products the person is intending to purchase.
IT IS THE OPINION OF THIS WRITER that this technology has been used around the world by thousands of doctors, it has been shown to be extremely accurate and there is virtually no danger to the patient, when tests are performed by a qualified doctor. It is relatively inexpensive and can single out problems before symptoms manifest. It is therefore, safe and very effective for adults, children and infants.
